How good is the AI at removing backgrounds?

Pretty good for most things—portraits, products, animals, clear subjects against a contrasting background. Hair and fur can be tricky, and transparent objects sometimes need a touch-up with the brush tools. But for a free tool, it holds up well.

What's the difference between the three modes?

AI does it automatically with one click. Manual lets you brush over areas by hand—good for fixing AI mistakes or doing precision work. Color mode removes everything that matches a color you pick, which is fast for solid backgrounds. Most people start with AI and switch to manual if needed.

Are there file size or format limits?

JPEG, PNG, WebP, and BMP up to 50MB each. No hard limit on how many you process, but huge batches might slow your browser down depending on your device.

Can I process more than one image at a time?

Why would I need to remove a background?

Switch to manual mode. The eraser tool removes whatever the AI missed, and the restore tool brings back anything it accidentally took out. For solid-color backgrounds, the color removal tool is often faster than brushing.

Can I make transparent PNGs with this?

That's exactly what it's for. After removing the background, download as PNG and the transparency is preserved. Good for logos, product images, and anything you need to layer.

Does it work on phones?

It works on mobile browsers, but for high-res images and detailed brushing, a desktop or tablet is a better experience.
